Welcome to the society web page.
The SOAS Compatriots and Friends of Kazakhstan is a student organization set up as an outlet for Kazakhstan in SOAS.
We will be providing SOAS with special events for all our students and visitors.

Past events:
- Kazakh Cultural evening:
A show case of Kazakhstani culture and food. Our embassy has been kind enough to provide us with national outfits, souveniers, and books for visitors to actually see, taste, and feel Kazakhstan, followed by an introductory presentation.
- “Racketeer” Film screening:
Modern movie about the immediate aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union and the affects it had on a young man who turned to the lucrative and only stable income method, crime and illegal business protection.
- Tea-drinking
A lively display of kazakh hospitality and music through a common practice throughout the country. SOAS CF Kazakhstan has been able to serve, entertain and impress over 60 people with gratis green and black tea and traditional honey sweets called “chack-chak.”
SOAS CF Kazakhstan is a proud member of Association of Kazakhstan Students in Great Britain, a joint collaboration between 9 different universities in and around London.
